Last Thursday, March 30, the day was beautiful, the spring was telling us about the love of God and the songs of the little birds accompanied us. This day coincided with the outing when the Associates invite the older sisters every month and with the in the afternoon.

Giving…a relationship
If we are alive, we are in relationship. We were created as social beings by a Trinitarian God, a God in constant relationship with the Son and the Spirit. When speaking about, or defining, a theology of fundraising, one must keep this image in mind. Questions begin to arise. How can I live in this community, in this world, which cries out for alleviation of hunger, of thirst, for a home, a country, and not be touched? Should I close my eyes to these expressions of need, saying that others should attend to them, should I listen to them?

Heroine of the Prairies
As a result of her many journeys across the plains of Texas to seek support for the children at St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Sister Mary of Jesus Noirry earned the title of “Heroine of the Prairies.” She was indeed a person who gave totally of herself to help others, especially the children at St. Joseph’s Orphanage.
Incarnate Word Associates’ Recommitment
This year’s recommitment for us, San Antonio Incarnate Word Associates, was a very special moment – an experience of being “surprised” by the Holy Spirit, with our Associates’ recommitment preceded by the sisters’ renewal of religious vows during the 11:30 mass at the St. Joseph’s Chapel. It was an experience of a living spirituality that bonds and binds Incarnate Word sisters and Incarnate Word associates.
