Welcome words, by Sister Tere on the occasion of the celebration in San Antonio of the 150 years of the Congregation.
Today is the day! The actual day! Our Feast day! 150 years!
Praised be the Incarnate Word!
All the preparation, celebrations, and reflection since we opened our Jubilee year was done so we could get to December 3rd , so we could get to this day, with our hearts filled with gratitude for 150 years of blessings, and our souls passionate for the responsibility to turn our heritage into legacy for the future.
A first Eucharist celebrated in Santa Rosa Infirmary marked the beginning of our Congregation’s heritage and our Eucharist today will mark our gratitude for 150 years of mission! How appropriate that we are doing this together with CHRISTUS SANTA ROSA.
I pray as we celebrate this first Eucharist for one entire month- beginning here in San Antonio, then Monterrey, then Chimbote in Peru, and finally in Mexico City – that we can as an Incarnate Word family bring our offering of gratitude to our faithful God who has “done great things for us”.
May this celebration be the beginning of our CCVI Magnificat.

“A Grateful heart is a blessed heart,” and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word have been beautifully blessed in all the ministry collaborators, benefactors, and friends who have journeyed with us. Thank you for believing in our mission, thank you for being here today.
May our gratitude kindle the joyful hope of this Advent/ Christmas Season. Praised be the Incarnate Word!
