On May 3, 2017, I.W. Village Officials and Campaign Managers assembled the resident community for the presentation of Plans for the Expansion of the Ministry, complete with a Groundbreaking Ceremony and community celebration.
Highlights of the Presentations included: ~$3.4 million Expanding the Ministry Campaign for the Village, now entering its Phase II funding effort. Groundbreaking for the Phase I projects has taken place and the following projects are officially underway thanks to the generosity of our supporter:
- A NEW AQUATIC CENTER. An enhanced place for aquatic based exercises, classes and therapy sessions.
- NEW AQUA THERAPY POOL. The Aqua Therapy Pool in DeMatel House will allow residents to have higher level physical therapy services on campus.
- EXPANSION OF THE MAIN DINING ROOM, KITCHEN AND ENCLOSING THE OUTDOOR WALKWAY. Seating capacity will be increased and our efficiencies and preparation options in the kitchen will be enhanced.
- RENOVATIONS AT DE MATEL HOUSE. This will create a more home-like and therapeutic care environment and is part of the plans for the Village to apply for Medicare certification, thus increasing the critical continuum of care for our residents.
The Campaign Leadership Team continues to seek funding for Phase II of the campaign to increase the parking capacity and expand Sisters Care services to include hospice certification.
