Instituto Hispano Inglés, being a bilingual school with a high-quality education, participated for the second time in the British English Olympics. This is a contest organized as an answer to the need to provide students in bilingual schools an opportunity to practice the English Language in the real context.
The BEO Team was formed by students in the second and third year of Secondary School and by two teachers, Gabriela García Zermeño and Verónica Álvarez Vázquez.
The campus assigned was ARDINGLY COLLEGE, located at Haywards Heath, RH17 6SQ.
The theme for the 2016 Olympics was: BE INSPIRED AND INSPIRE, and the seven testes were centered on this theme:
- PROJECT PRESENTATION
- MYSTERY PRESENTATION
- BEO WORLD TRAVEL MARKET
- BEO DEBATE
- BEO MYSTERY CHALLENGE
- BEO SONG CONTEST
- BEO DRAMA FESTIVAL

The performance of the students was considered outstanding by the directors, activity leaders and organizers, in the academic field and in hidden curriculum.
The English culture gives special emphasis to the basic rules for living together, including: Punctuality, discipline, respect, comradeship and Fair Game.
All of which are summed up in one word: Responsibility, therefore, we consider that our students are responsible persons who represent our institution with dignity, composure, self-assurance and integrity
In order for a team to be competitive and have high performance, it must have the following characteristics:
- Clear objectives
- Coordination in collective work
- Leadership
- Awareness of roles
- Motivation
Taking these characteristics into account, we turned a simple group of persons into a successful work team.
“WHEN WE LEARN, WE ARE ALL WINNERS”
Ms. Gabriela García Zermeño
