Greetings of Peace in a time of Storms,

On behalf of the Congregational JPIC Office and Committee, we want to extend our prayers to all who are suffering because of Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. We stand with you during this time of uncertainty and are here to help support those impacted however we can. If you are connected to a particular charity or organization assisting with disaster relief please let us know and we can help spread the word for any needed donations or supplies.

We also lament climate change’s magnification of these dangerous extreme weather events. May we protect, restore, and rightly share God’s creation — including and especially the life-sustaining climate God has given us. In just a few days the Christian community all over the world will begin the Season of Creation. May this be a time of renewed commitment for us to hear the cries of the earth and the cries of the poor, and respond with the compassionate love of the Incarnate Word.
