December 19, 2019, Chimbote, Peru.
The celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Congregation concluded in December in Chimbote, Peru. Sister Tere thanked the community by saying:
“Chimbote is a sacred place for our Congregation. We profoundly celebrate the meaning of this place for us in our journey as Sisters. Through the people of Chimbote we have learned solidarity and resilience; we have learned to live among the people and accompany them in the processes of humanization. Our Sisters have been present. They have healed the wounds of body and soul, but above all, they have learned to love the presence of God in Peru, amid pain, sorrows and losses, but also in the joy of celebrating with cold cuts and their music. Peru is the land of a people who stand up, encouraged by the sacrifice of their martyrs, in the mountains and on the coast, simple people who are still in search of life.
We come to THANK YOU for walking with us!”
