Praised be the Incarnate Word!
With joy and following the call of Jesus, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” (Luke. 3,11), Saint John Paul II Community from Santa Catarina in Nuevo Leon, resumed their apostolate bringing food to people who are waiting outside for their sick relatives in Mexican Institute of Social Security’s Clinic 21.
As we have observed, we find family members waiting for their patients to heal or finish their treatments outside each hospital, many of these people are foreigners or do not have the company, support or sustenance from their loved ones, so they it is impossible to take refuge somewhere or leave the hospital to find something to eat, they prefer to use that precious time waiting for news.
This is why, we agreed to bring a little relief to these people, bringing them words of encouragement, a smile and some food accompanied by water or juice to make the wait less difficult. The mission is to elaborate the products with care and quality that we will offer them. If we do not add love t what we do, it will remain as a simple action.
It fills us with great joy that two members of the Pilgrimage of Mary, Joseph and Jesus Community, also from Sta. Catarina in Nuevo Leon, have joined our community mission, which has been a great experience and learning for all and we confirm that the union of communities strengthens the mission.
May Jesus Incarnate Word help us to continue being the hands that give relief to the sick and infirm.
