Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)
Our Office of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) responds to “Christ suffering in the persons of a multitude of the sick and infirm of every kind” by providing a space for dialogue, exchange and embodying values of justice, peace and integrity of creation in today´s society and in all CCVI ministries.
“Our Congregation is called to promote human dignity and to educate for social justice”

Care of Creation
Join us in protecting, restoring and enjoying all of God’s creation.
We commit ourselves to nurture an accountable stewardship of our common home by embracing the Laudato Si approach -a journey towards full sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology.
Headwaters at Incarnate Word
San Antonio, Texas
At the San Antonio home of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word is a famous artesian spring known as the San Antonio Spring, commonly called “The Blue Hole”.
To early indigenous peoples, the springs were called Yanaguana, which in the Coahuiltecan language means “Spirit Waters,” or “up-flowing waters of the Spirit.”
To early indigenous peoples, the springs were called Yanaguana, which in the Coahuiltecan language means “Spirit Waters,” or “up-flowing waters of the Spirit.”
In 2008, the Sisters established the Headwaters Sanctuary to protect the 53-acre site surrounding the spring. Anticipating Pope Francis’ call to stewardship of the earth in his “Laudato Si,” this ministry reminds us that ecology, peace and justice are inseparable and that we must live in right relationship with all of creation.
As Sisters, we denounce human trafficking
As Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, from our mission to actualize the saving and healing love of the Incarnate Word promoting human dignity, we “affirm the right and dignity of all people and we denounce human trafficking and the social systems that promote it”.

The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word is a Congregation founded by immigrants for immigrants. We believe that all persons are worthy of respect and they should be protected in their human rights.

Action
We sponsor communities for education related to justice, peace and the care of creation. In our promotion of human dignity, we focus on ecology, immigration, poverty and human rights. We continue to respond to our founding call to relieve “Christ suffering in the world today” through words and actions, partnering with various groups from the Church and the community.
Action Initiatives
We support action initiatives which promote transformation of unfair structures; working on national and international networks with persons and groups that promote justice.
MIRN
We are a congregational effort supporting migrants, immigrants, and refugees in Peru, Mexico, the United States, and anywhere a CCVI Sister is present. With a multidisciplinary team, we develop projects and interventions to educate our congregational family and inspire “agents of change.” United by a passion to build a world where everyone has a place to live, grow, and thrive, we follow the Incarnate Word and courageously raise our voices for justice and dignity.
