The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word were featured in the Spring 2020 National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) Newsletter, which highlighted how CCVI is embracing change and planning and strengthening the Congregation for the future. The CCVI Team of Sr. Teresa (Tere) Maya- (Congregational Leader), Sr. Margaret Bonnot, Sr. Margaret Snyder, Sr. Leticia Rodriquez and Sr. Martha Laura Ganoa participated in NRRO’s Planning and Implementation Assistance Process.  This process looked at ways to strengthen CCVI’s Financial status, strengthen the Srs. Retirement Fund and look at different ways to cut the budget without effecting resources needed to accomplish the CCVI Mission.

At the current date, the participation in the NRRO Process helped the community to recognize the need for change and to adopt ways of operating and thinking that promote ongoing viability. Since entering Planning and Implementation Assistance, the community has reduced its unfunded liability by 50 percent.  As Sr. Tere Maya stated ” Simply put, we needed to cut expenses and increase income”.  It looks like CCVI’s participation in the NRRO Implementation Process has them focused on saying Goodbye to the “status quo” and hello to the future.
